This book is great on the details of what we can still know about someone who had a great talent, drawing for a secret market. The first section of Font: The Sourcebook gives a thorough history of the public word, back to its roots in Egyptian hieroglyphs, describing the mechanics of early printing right up until the digital methods now in use. Very interesting read.
